A Festival of Peace Beneath the Same Sky: First Heiwa Matsuri Held
On September 19, 2021, we were able to hold the first-ever, truly historic Heiwa Matsuri Festival, a synchronized celebration across the world!
We held festivals in 16 countries and approximately 40 cities worldwide, and were able to share a spirit of peace.
Heiwa Matsuri started in February through the vision of our founder Ogawa
Looking back, there were truly so many things that happened.
Heiwa Matsuri is the world’s first synchronized global festival, with organizers at each branch and location hosting their own celebrations.
As soon as we announced it, people came forward saying “We’ll hold a Heiwa Matsuri too!” and branches were established across the country
From there, it quickly spread throughout Japan and around the world, and by September 19th, the festival was being held in approximately 40 cities.
The festival scenes were broadcast around the world in a 24-hour relay stream.
There were so many more people and locations that wanted to broadcast, I think we’ll need multiple channels next year
“Japanese traditional clothing as a symbol of peace”
With this message as our slogan, many people who cherish Japanese culture showed their support,
and everyone is wonderful—we’re growing every day thanks to them
Moreover, those who eagerly support and participate in social contribution activities tend to have generous hearts and big spirits,
so I’m amazed at how wonderful every person we meet is
All the participants are warm-hearted every time
We envision Heiwa Matsuri as a festival that will continue for generations to come, continuing even after our founder Ogawa, myself, and all of you have passed.
Though its form may evolve with the times
I hope it becomes a festival that welcomes participation from all over the Earth, transcending skin color, language barriers, differences in values and culture, and borders
This time, so many wonderful festivals were held simultaneously across the world!
The organizers are truly wonderful people
In Japan, fireworks were launched simultaneously in 21 cities
In these challenging times, thanks to the passionate spirit of our fireworks masters, we were able to light up the night sky with beautiful fireworks.
“Making HANABI (Fireworks) a Universal Language”
We’ve created a new dream together with the fireworks masters
Higashi-Osaka City was delighted, and the fireworks were featured on their city website and in the Higashi-Osaka weekly publication!
There’s nothing but wonderful news.
With the launching of fireworks—the symbol of Japanese festivals and also featured in the Heiwa Matsuri logo—
“The sky connects us all as one”
we could truly feel this message
The world celebrated this festival of peace held beneath one connected sky, with joy and unity.
We are also producing a documentary film that captures the journey of how Heiwa Matsuri came together, blessed with excellent directors and producers
We want to submit it to international film festivals and amaze the world
Since the festival has been held, my heart is so full of gratitude that I can never thank everyone enough
Thank you all, always.
We are grateful from the bottom of our hearts.
As we continue to strive to create even better festivals,
we want to contribute to making the world a better place
The world is surely going to be even more interesting!!
Making even an ordinary world interesting
We look forward to your continued support!!
