✨ Lunch Gathering ✨

Gazing at the Tokyo Skytree
through the windows of a 22nd-floor restaurant,

we enjoyed elegant Italian
course cuisine 🕊

Here, we had the debut of custom happi coats
made from African fabric that arrived recently!

Happi coats are formal wear traditionally worn by craftspeople in the Edo period, and today they’re commonly worn at festivals and other events as traditional clothing.

Made from brilliant, luxurious African fabric,
this beautiful collaboration between African style and Japanese happi was born ♡

When Ba, originally from Guinea in Africa, wore the happi,
it was like a Japanese-style version of Sapeur ♡

While cherishing Japanese culture, we were able to foster international exchange at the same time—
a truly wonderful moment ✨

✨ New Year’s Tea Ceremony ✨

Even though I didn’t know tea ceremony etiquette,
while receiving a lecture on how matcha is made,

I participated in the “Matcha Experience” at
Asakusa Sweets Specialty Shop Kaminari-Issa!

A beginner-friendly matcha experience ♬

In grinding tencha (matcha’s raw ingredient) with a stone mortar,
my arms got tired, but it was a fun experience
making it into powder.

We actually whisked matcha with a whisk and drank it ♡

Today’s Japanese confection was
a “clover-shaped wagashi” 🍀!

It was delicious ♪♪♪
